Inspection and Audit

We have a long tradition in the tobacco industry and our engineering staff has a wealth of experience and knowledge in all aspects of cigarette making, handling and packing. This valuable asset is now available to our customers in the form of an audit advisory service which help you to achieve the best results from your Molins equipment.

Many of Molins older generation machines can be upgraded to take advantage of new and improved technology. We can provide a detailed audit of these machines, by means of an inspection of your equipment undertaken by our experienced engineering staff. On completion of the audit, a detailed report will be prepared outlining any problem areas, together with recommendations on how to improve performance and reduce manufacturing costs.

From the report, we will develop a programme of work to improve the overall performance and efficiency of your machines, which may include some or all of the following recommendations:

• Application of performance kits

• Software upgrades

• Maintenance schedules

• Training for your own personnel

Maintenance

The complexity of cigarette making, packing and handling machines demands that all equipment receives regular servicing by skilled technicians if peak performance is to be maintained.
Planned preventative maintenance is the service option recommended for our complete product range. As is implied by its title, the scheme has been evolved to avoid problems before they occur. By ensuring that machines are kept running at optimum efficiency and systems are maintained at their original design specifications, unplanned stoppages can be virtually eliminated.
Normally, this type of work is carried out under the terms of a service contract, where in return for an annual fee, a visual inspection, together with a full mechanical and electrical service, will be conducted at regular intervals throughout the year. These inspections will also include the regular measurement and recording of the machine's performance and efficiency in order that any adverse trends may be identified and remedial action taken. The service intervals will depend upon the machine usage and will be agreed at the commencement of the contract.
Of course, a planned preventative maintenance visit may also be arranged at any time, even in the absence of a service contract.
The in-depth knowledge and experience of Molins field service engineers is second-to-none, and is enhanced by the utilisation of the latest diagnostic aids. This ensures that your machine will be returned to full working order with the minimum downtime and disruption to production.
Work is always carried out in accordance with our strict code of practice and is routinely monitored by local Molins service managers. Whenever possible, the maintenance will be performed by the same engineer in order to further enhance the quality of the service.
